Hey vegans,
Honestly, I used to hate recipe blogs.
Mainly for two reasons. Either the recipes had animal products, or they used all these fancy ingredients that I don’t even have at home.
And don’t even get me started on the time. Some recipes take hours. I just don’t have that kind of patience.
But one day, I randomly came across this tomato rice soup recipe, and it actually surprised me.
Just 3 simple ingredients. Nothing complicated.
And yeah, it’s completely vegan.
If you want something quick and easy, just scroll down, I’ve shared it below.
Ingredients

- 1 Jar of Spaghetti Sauce (500g)
- 1 Cup of Rice (I used White Long Grain)
- 4 Cups of Water (Recently Boiled in Kettle)
- Few chopped Basil Leaves for taste (optional)
Preparation Process
This one’s honestly super easy.
Start by taking a pot and adding one jar of spaghetti sauce (around 500g). Warm it up on medium heat.
Now add 3 to 4 cups of water and give it a good stir.
Once it starts heating up properly, add 1 cup of white long grain rice.
Stir it for a bit, then throw in some chopped basil leaves.
Put the lid on, lower the heat, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
That’s it. Your simple and delicious tomato rice soup is ready.
Quick notes from my side
- I don’t measure water exactly, I just adjust as I go
- Sometimes I skip basil, still turns out good
- If it looks too thick, I add a little water at the end
- Letting it sit for 5-10 mins makes it taste even better
- Low heat is important, I’ve burned it once
- This is my go-to when I don’t feel like cooking at all
Honestly, that’s it.
Nothing fancy, no stress, just something warm and easy that actually works.
If you try it, you’ll see why I keep coming back to this one.
